Heritage

Nestled in the heart of the Garden Route, you will find an area steeped in old traditions, dating back to the 1700’s, where the first timber post was created by the Dutch East India Company.

Early woodcutters and their families lived in forest clearings where they evolved into a closely-knit community. The artisans became incredibly skilled in felling, sawing and handling timber.

The utilization of the forest trees led to such industries as furniture and wagon making. by 1910, several large sawmills had been established in the district. Timber for export was transported to coastal ports by ox wagon. Today you will find sawmills with the ultimate in modern wood technology and innovative furniture factories in the Southern Cape. Unique to this area is the age-old technique and skill of manufacturing wood furniture by hand.

We follow old traditions steeped in the roots of the area, that ensure high quality standards specializing in modern office furniture trends.

We are a second generation company that started back in 1996. Our family run business ensures that the same principles and vales from generations ago, is still maintained to this day.

We specialized primarily in office furniture for the office and home environments and have a wide range of product offerings, ranging from standardised basic designs to full bespoke ranges that are tailored to represent your vision in the office space.

History

The manufacturing concern trading as MMA Office Furniture was bought from the previous owners on 24 July 1996, by the present owner, André Cronje. During the year 1999 – 2000, the cupboard division was established. Only after more than a years development work, it was decided to enter the market. Today, we believe that our cupboards and our installation methods compare to the very best available in the area and our target market is the more upmarket developments. As a general rule, we assemble all the cupboards that we can freely carry into the units, at our factory in Extension Road, George. We proud ourselves in our work and believe that we have the edge on the more established cupboard contractors in our area, mainly with regard to pricing. We do all our installations with our own staff and will at all times have a senior staff member as a working supervisor on site.
